Mark Watson Live DVD - Click to Pre Order.

Tinker tailor soldier spy comedian

Four shows (plus the literary event) done since Sunday and my throat is sore from all the bloody talking, and I’m also – at this alarmingly early stage of the tour – showing a bit of wear and tear generally. I apologise to Durham’s audience for being so hoarse and phlegmy. I plan now to sleep for just over ninety years. Before I do, hwere are two questions that need clearing up. One of them I can help with; the other I throw open to you.

The DVD: I would pre-order it but the only link I’ve seen for it is for the region 2 version which won’t work in Australia. Could you work details of an Australian release into a post?
I believe the DVD will come out in Australia around March or April, when I’m over there for the festivals. This means you have to wait a bit longer than the Brits, but if you come and find me I’ll tell you all the jokes on the DVD so you’re not left behind. And describe the extras.

On completely unrelated topics, I have a challenge for someone. Can anyone explain what actually happens in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy? I have no idea what the bloody hell it was about. Admittedly I did fall asleep, but it was only for a minute. I spent most of it wondering where John Hurt went and was afterwards informed that he died like five minutes in.
Can anyone lend a hand with this? I don’t like to think of someone wasting all that time sitting in a cinema thinking ‘where the hell is John Hurt?’

If it’s any help, I hear the tailor is not in it as much as you might hope from the title.

See you tomorrow. I’m going to Market Drayton, in Shropshire, for the first time. I believe it’s pretty near Durham. Hang on, we’ll just look at the map. I believe it’s PRETTY FAR FROM DURHAM.

Been away for awhile but felt I had to comment about the Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy bit. I went to see it with my mum and sister (who mostly went because of Bendict Cumberbatch). We enjoyed it but weren’t quite sure what was going on in it.

SPOILER WARNING (from when I remember watching the film)

I think the timeline was a bit over the place, John Hurt was in it for more than five minutes but he did die right at the beginning. Even though I managed to stay awake through it all, I’m still not sure what was going on.

If you all go and see it and get what happens (and notice when John Hurt dies) I am going to feel rather stupid.

Robins still haven’t appointed a new manager. Rumour has it that the man they’re after is off on tour somewhere … no idea who they mean!!!

Come on … despite the late reminder, let’s get finger crossing, concentrate and turn the league table on its head … starting today!!!

I haven’t seen it yet either, I heard it is good but long. I went to see Drive instead, much easier to understand.

Thanks! I shall remove it from my Christmas list and add it to my list of things to buy when I have a job.

I don’t actually know what happens in TTSS, but I know that Benedict Cumberbatch is in it, therefore it must be a worthwhile watch. I’ve not seen it yet because of the Australia being slow thing, but it looks nice and that’s what really matters, obviously.

Great show tonight in Durham. The delayed laughing woman was brilliant.

In answer: No. Which reminds me, I need to go and see that.

Having recently landed myself a job where I speak loudly and clearly almost constantly for 5-7 hours a night I am really starting to sympathise with you. My voice is shot.
