Mark Watson Live DVD - Click to Pre Order.

Bored ‘em

Just coming back from Borden, after the first of my 2,200 shows before Christmas. In spite of my cunning headline I don’t think I did bore them. It was a lively show. Thanks to everyone who made it to the charming Phoenix Theatre, where my backstage area was decorated with pictures of leopards and a lady called Alison stole the show with one of those incredible having-a-fit laughs which comedians are occasionally treated to.

Because of the volume of work I’m doing, the blog
is pretty functional at present, but tomorrow I should be in a position to publish a guide to getting tickets for this DVD launch. That’s something, eh?

Rachael, who knew it was a real place? I guess most of the people who live there.

A great night of comedy and observation from Mark Watson, look forward to the “John Bishop” tour next year!!

On behalf of the volunteers and staff at the Phoenix thank you so much for the gig last night. As you may have gathered Bordon could do with lots of laughs- although some of our audience did quite a good job of trying to steal the show. You are more than welcome to come back at any time- and I will make sure Allison and Durham man are there for you (actually was thinking of recording her laugh it must be unique!)

Being sat next, and indeed married, to the chap who was sadly gazzumped in the chair stealing stakes by the fabulous “wall flower” man I can indeed confirm that you did not bored’em. Although perhaps that should read bored’om cos Bordon is Bordon and not Borden which after spending several decades living here starts to grate when post comes with the address spelt wrong. I’m sure as a man of good humour, intellect and a liking for things being right and proper you will appreciate the mispelling thing. Brilliant show – we now need to find a way of transporting the chair in the boot of the car over to a future gig of yours and just placing it on stage, sitting down and making ourselves comfortable ….

I guess it is a real place then. Who knew?

I was disappointed that you made no topical references to Jane Austen, our local celebrity, during yesterday evening’s performance. I suppose you were a little peeved that she did not come to the show.
We’ve never had a comedian in Bordon before. How long should we wait before thinking about getting another one?
Plenty of ugly fat bastards here, mind.

In looking at your next run of tour dates I realise I’ve no more than a very vague idea of where most places are in the country.
I could pick London, Liverpool and maybe Plymouth off a map but would struggle for pretty much everywhere else.

I’ve no idea where Borden is. And despite being familiar with the concept of Cheltenham don’t know where it is or what it looks like.

    Hmm.
