Ad value
I thought I might tell you about this new TV show I’m involved in. I believe some people who read the blog are interested in that sort of thing. I’ve mentioned it briefly before, but I think I’m now allowed to give some more details.
It’s called The Mad Bad Ad Show. It is all about advertising. Me and Micky Flanagan are team captains. We answer questions about ‘classic’ adverts in a panel show style, and then have to create our own advert for a made-up product. So it’s a bit like a mixture of a quiz show and The Apprentice.
We did a pilot and – well, you know how negative I always am – but it was pretty good actually, and now it is going to be a whole series. It’s on Channel 4, probably on Sunday nights, beginning in mid-November. I’ve been filming bits and pieces for it the past couple of days, and I’m optimistic it is going to be entertaining fare. I don’t think it will be too much like one of these panel shows where it’s all fighty and I get depressed. It’s going to be something a bit different. In a good way. Not in the way that show where John Barrowman sings songs to deserving people is ‘something a bit different’.
So with that and the Live At The Apollo business, you will have ample chance to see my pallid face on your television screens throughout November. And obviously, if you fancy coming to watch the recordings and whooping a little bit when I shamble out and sit down at the start, that would be more than welcome.
There you go. I wouldn’t want you to think I am sitting on my arse not doing anything. Although there’s never been a recorded case of that happening, actually.

I’m so pleased to hear that you’re doing so well at the moment.
Perhaps not quite as exciting news, but my neighbour cut our unmanageable hedge for us for free! Good news all round!

You sold it well, only problem is we still have to wait over a month!

Well I think you’re great and Micky Flanagan is also great. This cannot go wrong!

Megan, channel 4 put most of their shows online in the UK so you should be able to see all the shows that have been shown when you visit.

Oh I’d like to come and whoop at the recordings if you let me know when it is. I did a lot of whooping at the pilot so presumably I’m part of the reason its a series…joking obviously. Im glad you’re doing a series as I really enjoyed the pilot.

Hi, Lisan66 … that’s fantastic news … it means that instead of what you’ve possibly been thinking, ie no one even wants to give me an interview, etc, etc, etc … there are actually loads of potential employers thinking ‘if only we’d been able to get hold of that Lisan’(66)!!!
It can be your little secret only to be revealed on your death bed OR at a giggly after Christmas dinner confessional … way into the next century!!!
That new show of Mark’s sounds very entertaining and not to be missed, doesn’t it???!!!

I hope that one of these things is on in the three days I’m in the UK in November.

Ooh…..new show sounds interesting. I’ll make sure I watch it when it’s on.
And I’m too afraid to mention it to my parents, because they’ve been at me to get a job since the beginning of forever. This may be why I don’t have a job right now.
Today I realised that I’d done something really stupid. I’ve had the wrong phone number on my cv since last Christmas when I got a new number. I’ve never been so depressed in my life. And I’m also convincing myself that if I’d had the right number on it, I’d've been flooded with job offers. I hate typos
