The iPod has landed

Once more, a brief blog, but good news: as you might have seen from the Comments, the iPod has arrived in the hands of its winner, not far short of 18 months after the journey began. In case you missed this at the time, I sent an iPod around the country from one blog reader to the next. They all added music to it and arranged handovers to ensure the little MP3 player stayed in transit. There were some lulls but after a heartwarming amount of cooperation the prize is now in the possession of its rightful owner Anna. Tomorrow my aim is to find time to write this up in more detail. For now, very well done to everyone involved. This was quite a project. Good has triumphed over evil I think. Yet to be confirmed. But I think it has.

Proof that Watsonians are kind of awesome but incredibly geeky.
Whey!

Yay! Now you just have to think of something else huge and ridiculous-yet-awesome and we’re all set.

Great to hear that the iPod has finally made its way to the rightful winner. This is also my first post since that ill-advised competition-entry in Feb 2010. In other news, the Fringe is awesome. Hope to see your show Mark!

Wow – I’m glad the little iPod that started its journey when I met Mark at the Apple Store in London what seems like an age ago has finally made it to its destination…And it makes that 9 hour round trip to Fort William seem worth it now too. Well done to one and all involved in the process and I hope Anna enjoys her prize and all the new music she’s got with it.

Hurray for the safe delivery of the iPod – what cheery news for a wet Tuesday, as I catch up with the blog.
I think a blog listing all the songs would be very interesting indeed – I bet the musical tastes of Watsonians are pretty varied…

It’s a real achievement, who’d have thought a random bunch of people could transfer an iPod round the country like that!
I’ve just emailed through a photo of the final handover. Anna said she was thinking about doing a blog of the songs on the iPod which I think is a great idea, if that does go ahead I look forward to reading it

I haven’t commented in awhile (though rest assured I am still an avid reader), but this news deserves a massive congratulations to everyone who was involved! Such awesome work, and such a massive challenge

Well done to everyone in the iPod chain – it was a great pleasure meeting (some of) you, and I’m so impressed with the niceness and carefulness you all possess.
