Last-minute revision

I’ve now got a lovely collection of facts. Thanks to everyone. Eventually you might see the fruits of this endeavour in my new show. WHICH STARTS TOMORROW. I am spending all my time trying to knock it into shape. It was meant to be nice and low-key but a combination of factors have made it rather more pressurised than I was expecting. Among other things, people have been impertinent enough to buy tickets using their hard-earned money, money which they could otherwise have spent on bananas, washing-up liquid, sex in hotel rooms etc. So I feel the weight of responsibility and the weight of new material, and as we all know I’m not very good at lifting weights. However there is a certain bungee-jump excitement that goes along with the foreboding of these occasions.

If you are coming, it’s not too late to email markwatsonspreview2012@gmail.com and get a pre-show briefing.

I’m going to get straight back to the task in hand. See a few of you tomorrow and in the days to follow. Hmmmm.

Hey, Jen and all other blog recruits to the Bristol City fan club …

ALERT *** Finger Crossing Footie Followers *** ALERT

    Saturday 20 August

    Bristol City v Portsmouth FC

    KO 3.00pm BST

    No excuses accepted!!!

And here’s an interesting fact for you, Mark …

In aircraft construction, ferrets, yes FERRETS are used to get the wiring to the cockpit from the controls in the rear of planes!!!

This information can be checked out via Wickipedia (which I realise is not always regarded as an entirely true source!) but I also have it on good authority via my son who works in the electronics industry AND it was on QI – so MUST be true if Stephen Fry says so …!

Have fun tonight! I am deeply curious about this show. :)

Am going to try to come see you somewhere around London or the SW in October/November, but that’s still the ‘old’ show, right? (That’s okay too – it was a WIP when I saw it last summer.)

one last fact then – Angus McPhee or MacPhee (1916–1997) was a Scottish outsider artist, who made his art by weaving found vegetation, such as grasses, into extraordinary garments. He also used sheep’s wool picked from barbed wire fences, and leaves. McPhee created most of his work whilst in the Craig Dunain Psychiatric Hospital near Inverness. He chose not to speak for 50 years.

I hope the show goes well. Sorry I have to leave Edfringe early tomorrow, and I’ll miss it, but I’m glad I bumped into you in Pleasance Courtyard today. I wish I could remember the Where’s Watson points system. See you next time you’re in Brisbane.

P.S. We did enjoy Emily’s show, Seminar.

I am flying up on Sunday, staying with my Edinburgh based friend and we are already discussing the jelly making activities that will take place in her kitchen when I get there. Only up for three days, have ticket for your Tuesday show, the excitement I feel at the thought of you and jelly on the same stage is quite disturbing … hmmmm … :)
