I am become death, the destroyer of blogs
By now everyone knows the at-first-unbelievable news broken by Zoe Fell at a minute past midnight this morning. The Blogless Day foreseen by Nostradamus, and also me, had finally arrived. The cause was nothing as spectacular as I would like to claim, e.g. gored by a bull, nor as serious as it might have been, e.g. sudden end of my life. It was a mere matter of phone failure at a crucial time, and the lack of a backup plan of the kind I’ve relied on before. No drama. No heroism. A series of errors and misfortunes and
the work of nearly 500 days was undone.
Or was it? No!!! (Optimism.) We are going to bloody well get back on the bike and start again from this point. Perhaps someone (Zoe) will be kind enough to work out when the date falls- I guess early in 2013- when I’ll surpass the record of the first unbroken run. Hell, maybe we should have a traditional day off every 450odd days to comemmorate this first one. Anyway. This is not the end. It’s a new beginning. Sometimes when people say that, they’re lying or religious. But I am simply telling you we are not done yet. We’re just getting going. In a way this could be the best thing that ever happened to the blog. I’m not sure how. But it could.
Or you could all desert, now. Fingers, as ever, crossed.

Glad to see the blog return! 462 days in itself was one heck of an achievement. Here’s to the next few hundred days of blogging…

Welcome back. Don’t hurt me like that again, please.

Maybe your phone just doesn’t like Scotland?

Ah bloglessness…
It was a damn good run though and I’m glad there was nothing truly dramatic to cause it – just a modern technical issue.
Remember BST -20 at the Last Ever 24 Hour Show in Ed a couple of years ago?
We could always bend time again… No?
OK, onward then

November 6th, 2012, eh? Sounds doable to me! =)

I rather like the idea of commemorating the Blogless Day every 452 days. Something else to keep us on our toes, and also a nice little reminder that we can overcome anything (okay, that was hyperbole, but hopefully you know what I mean.
(I’d like to hope I can overcome this stupid cold in time for my friends’ wedding on Saturday. I’m coughing, sneezing, and having nosebleeds – not the best look for being in company.)

In the words of the new Living End album “The ending is just the beginning repeating”
It was bound to happen sooner or later and I doubt anyone will be actually annoyed at you. I shall be disappointed if they are.
Glad to see you’re back

Blogless day complete.
Time to re-launch this rocket of a blog.
All systems are GO.
*Cheers from the crowd* Hooray! Hooray! Bravo for the 462!

I like the idea of having a blogging break every 450 days or so. Doing a blog every day for a year is a pretty amazing achievement to start with. Well, maybe not amazing, but it’s an achievement nonetheless.
The blog is dead. Long live the blog. (Insert other cliches here. It’s too late to be making sense.)

Huge huzzah to the onwardness of the Blog!!
Liking the idea of the every-so-often blogless day – ‘in amendment to the original ruling’.
The blog is dead. Long live the Blog. (or something like that – not really dead, just skipped a day due to stupid technology, but that hasn’t quite got the same ring to it)

I agree with Allie, let’s just have a Blogless Day every year on the 1st August, we could pretend you had intended not to blog as it was Blogless Day, no one would know (shoosh now)
In which case nothing has gone amiss, all is well, it was planned and therefore nothing to worry about.
I love happy endings

I am no splitter!
Remember your previous consideration of Duvet Days…
Have fun in Edinburgh.

Really pleased the blog will live on, I really was quite sad that we may have seen the end of it which would have been a great shame because I’ve learned a lot from it and it’s done a lot for me personally (from widening my perspectives on life to widening my circle of friends and record collection).
BLOG ON! WHOO!

As the dreaded ‘blogless’ was caused by extenuating circumstances beyond your control and wasn’t due to deriliction of duty, I would like to move that the ‘blogless’ be declared null and void!!!
All those in favour …???

Pleased to hear that all is well. We could call that the practice run…..Now for the real thing!!!!
We could have a National Blogless day on the 1st Aug each year! x

And I thought the end of the world would be 21/12/2012
Posted by Zoe Fell on August 2, 2011
The official length was 462 days.
I’d be more than happy to keep abreast of this next run of blogs and have, in fact, got a note on my desktop for this very purpose.
Blog 2.0 – GO.

Yay, you’re back! I’m glad you’re okay and it was nothing serious. That’s some record, 450-odd days. Well done and thank you for all the time you’ve spent entertaining us on here! x

Cannot believe I missed Blogwatch on the actual Blogless Day. Stupid Spain. Still, probably best for my nerves. I have tracked down some wifi to check NHS jobs and I’ve ended up in a bar with a woman singing awful Alesha Dixon covers and I’m keen to be pretty much anywhere else. Best go.

It was just a dramatic pause!
