Makin’ bacon

I’ve just recorded two episodes of Richard Bacon’s ITV4 show where you sit around and chat. Yes there IS an ITV4, etc. Ahh, remember those jokes from last year? Sigh. Anyway, it was fun. On one of them a panel of vicars decided who won each round. There was a special mention of the bear T-shirt. I opened the door to a
potential reconciliation with Frankie Boyle. Bacon was his usual rather good-looking self. You can see these entertainment programmes in September. Makin’ bacon title occurs courtesy the great, but not very commonly-played board game Pass The Pigs. I’m off to Edinburgh. See some of you up there.

I realise it wasn’t the main point of the blog but… Pass the Pigs is one of the best games. Ever. My family have had some quite epic games in the past and it still gets taken with us when we go on a long car or train journey.

That sounds like a lovely show. I will try to check it out.
Have fun at the Fringe! Very much looking forward to seeing your show, and Emily’s as well!

Still think Bacon Grills (from Psychoville) would be a better name for the show though

Edinburgh seems to have come round so quick this year! Hoping this year is as awesome as the rest for you, if not more so. Very much looking forward to seeing you there.
Will The Book Stops Here still be happening on the 8th?
I’ll pass on the pigs, but will check out Bacon.
ps – don’t forget the jeans!!

I quite like that Richard Bacon show – it’s a good format for just letting people be funny, and I imagine it’s one that suits you pretty well, given the sort of loose structure of it. Of course, there is the element to it where when you’re sitting in a lounge watching people sitting in a lounge chatting with beer and pizza, you sort of wonder why you didn’t just get some people round and have some beer and pizza, but you can’t do that every night, right?
But yes, much like the under-rated Argumental, it’s set up in a way that’s kind to the comedians, as opposed to Mock The Week etc. Of course, then Argumental started trying to glean humour from the topics more than the comics, but the point stands – let’s have more shows that allow funny people to be funny without having to be loud and contrived.

I’m worried about the Mr Bacon being ‘rather good looking’ bit. Is it just me that haft seem him like that?! Do I need to look at my scoring for male looks?!
