Southend mistaken identity fun

On the way home from Southend. Tonight’s audience was one of the best of the tour, despite the fact that many of them went to the wrong theatre because of a giant ticketing mix-up. In fact even I
went to the wrong theatre initially, because of faulty directions from a well-meaning but TOTALLY WRONG man at the station. All in all it was a wonder anyone made it at all. If you are thinking of going to Southend Palace any time, or the Cliffs Pavilion, make
sure you know which is which.

A week now until my DVD recording, in Bristol. It’s going to be awesome. Or bad, but good after they’ve put a laughter track on it.

That’s enough for now. I am tired enough to sleep on a
bed of scorpions. Live ones. Bye.

I reckon you might not even have to put that laughter track on it!

Superb show as always. The whole Palace/Cliffs thing was hilarious as was the Buddy thing.

My friend hadnt been to comedy before and actually cried with laughter so shes a new fan. She’s added you to her list of famous people she’s met. So far its just you and Ben Stiller.

I’d like to emphatically endorse Katie K’s idea about we ‘special fans’ getting a peek behind the scenes pre-show/recording on Sunday.

It would also be a great chance to meet up with our fellow followers!!!

No worries, Katie, I’m sure our great guru … or Giles … can fix it for us!!!

Look forward to seeing Mark and all the other named attendees in just over a week … can’t wait!

    Hi Mark
Myself and my husband Richard we’re in the audience last nite and thought u we’re absolutely brilliant!
I haven’t laughed that much is ages and found it just as funny as we we’re reliving part of the show today!
My husband was being annoying today (as usual) and my first reaction was to shove my hand in his face and shout “NO!”. Lol!
Looking forward to seeing u again in the future. :-)

I am going to be an annoying wish I could come to the Bristol show person. I’m pretty sure I can’t come to Bristol. I was thinking about trying to, but I don’t get paid for working anymore (failing cafe) so I can’t.

Maybe the man at the station was a Frankie Boyle fan…

I haven’t posted for a while but just wanted to say I had a super time at your show last night. Can only apologise for my shoddy attempts at telling the time. Sorry.

I haven’t really got anything to say but feel like I haven’t commented in a while.
So I will tell you about my birthday list.
There are only 4 things on it. And tickets to see you at Epsom is one of them.
The others are Money, a Haircut and a DVD that I am definitely too old for and isn’t good but I’ve been searching for for ages…
Good Luck with every show until Bristol when I shall renew the Luck threefold!

The kangaroo probably went to the Cliffs and was singing along to Peggy Sue. Thanks for a really great show x

Hi Mark. My Mum and I were sat in the third row at Southend last night. We absolutely loved it. I’d been wanting to see you live for years and you completely lived up to my hopes. We were at the Cliffs probably about an hour before you must have got there – not by mistake – we went there for a tea in the cafe overlooking the estuary. Pity we didn’t see you or we could have given you a lift to the Palace. I’ll definitely come and see you again and glad you are recording a DVD.

Bristol caught me by surprise, haven’t booked a train yet and currently don’t have the financial wherewithall to either. Hmm. It’ll be fine!

Hope your ears were burning earlier, I was talking to Benjamin Patridge about you, in a good way. I say earlier, I mean midnight, I think an hour and a quarter is an all time record for length of time it’s taken me to leave a gig.

Mark, is there any chance of the good people of Bristol letting us (your devoted, “sane” followers) into the theatre early, to watch the whole setting the stage & you exclusively doing a quick warm up in front of us (your lovely, paying public) which could be added as part of a DVD extra (5-10 minutes edited, of showing special feature fanatics setting the stage, you running over your set, etc) That’s but just 1 idea, maybe more people (your blog followers, obviously) can post their ideas too, to bulk up the DVD & make it even more special. I’ve probably ranted on for too long, so I shall stop mid-senta…
