This is your pilot

We just recorded the improvisational pilot. It went pretty well, I thought. It will be on TV in July- I’ll tell you when it’s happening- but special thanks to those who went the extra mile and came to the actual recording tonight. Made it
much easier for me. Thank you. I’m going to post this because my
phone is connecting only reluctantly to the net, and time is ticking, and it might take a few tries…

Mark it was a wonderful evening of comedy and I was ammazed when my sugestion of “The Peaceful Plonkers” as a team name was taken up. Yep i am that “nice Man in a tie” .
Like everyone else who attended the recording I am waiting with baited breath for the transmission of the show and the commisioning of a series, it was all too good to be confined to a single pilot show.
My wife keeps teasing me about Josie’s sugestion that I look like Rufus’s Dad!

Gnashingly frustrated that I missed it – had a ticket and everything, then didn’t get out of work till 6.50. But very glad to hear it went well and will look forward to seeing it in my living room in July.

If I had gone to that instead if my school’s prom maybe I wouldn’t have such a bad hangover.

Well Mark, first chance I’ve had to get on here and say how bloody superb you were last night, you work so hard and by that I don’t mean you made it look hard, it obviously is a very difficult job and you do it so well
If I was faced with an autocue and a voice in one ear it would just be gibberish coming out of my mouth!
Brought hubby along who has read all your books (big fan) but never seen you live, he is now converted. We were both crying with laughter and my face still aches this morning! I’m sure this show is going to be a bit hit for you despite the very silly name
p
Thought everyone was brilliant really, will now be looking up a couple of comedians I hadn’t seen before, and I think Colin may have stumbled on his new catchphrase “Look at my shins” haha! And as for the green suits … less said the better!
Well done again …

oh and heckler idiot was handled very well I thought, tempting though it must have been to him over the head with an invisible prop!

@Alex – I know it’s shit out there on the job front for SLTs – in the year I qualified it was so hard to find work I had to move to Gosport…Gosport! (I really hope there’s no-one here from Gosport that’ll be offended at that – I apologise if so – it was just a very unhappy 18 months). But please, please don’t think it’s useless. Because when you do qualify and start seeing people, and the feedback you get from them is amazing, and makes you realise how amazing what you’re doing is.
Also, if you’re in/around London, and would like a volunteering opportunity, do let me know. wasidaniju@ukconnect.org
Brilliant night last night. I did worry the shouty guy was going to keep shouting throughout, so, glad that didn’t happen.
Improv rocks, all the improvisers rocked, and Mark, you rocked hardest of them all. And thank you for the jeans signing!
@Katherine – I agree that Colin’s shins were spectacular :0)

I look forward to watching the show, with all the added fun of animation and what-nots superimposed on yourself and the performers, right now all I can still see is green. Lots of green. Even during the mind reading segment, I thought; This studio is very green.
Still, a great night had by all, meeting new people and having a good laugh at Colin’s shins. Everyone should looks at his shins. He has shins. Kx

Have you seen this, Mark? I came across it on Twitter. Someone’s been making paper models of comedians and you’re one of them!

There’s even a template for anyone who wants to make a mini Watson:

This is one of those blogs/evenings on Twitter that make me resent my (increasingly useless) degree. If anyone doesn’t believe that it’s useless go to NHS Jobs and search for Band 5 Speech Therapist. And then cry for me.
Sigh.
Glad everyone seems to have enjoyed it. But I must let you know that I hate you all.
