Invernews

This won’t mean much to most of you, but of all the venues frequently requested for tour shows, three have traditionally led the way: Belfast, Aberdeen and Inverness. The first two were successfully included in the Request Stops programme. Inverness has continued to be a problem. It began to seem as if I would never visit this, the most northerly city in Britain. But now a date has been arranged. It is December 10th, at the Ironworks.

I’m really hoping it’s a comedy venue and not an actual ironworks. But I don’t really mind, to be honest. I’m just glad to be travelling a tremendously long way to do a show to people who have never seen me before. If you are in Inverness, see if you can make it to this show. It’d be a delightful irony if after all this back-and-forth, nobody turned up. And by delightful, I mean somewhat disappointing.

Just to remind you, the other (numerous) autumn/winter Request Stop shows are listed in the blog below. And many are on sale for June and July also. Get your tickets NOW NOW NOW. Or in some cases WHEN THEY GO ON SALE.

That is probably why it is best that I am not a parent though.

That would be impressive if you made someone laugh so much that their baby popped out, I think I would be tempted to go anyway and see what happened.

Brillant news since I would of gone to this date if you hadn’t already given us the Aberdeen date. I am beginning to wonder when the tickets are going on sale though, I’ve been checking every day since you annouced them and still nothing. Well off to check again

This announcement doesn’t mean much to me personally, but I am happy for you and for the people of Inverness!

    Also, hee. Misha said “innit”.

    (Yes, the one from Twitter)

Ironworks is a venue (built on the site of an actual Ironworks, hence the name) in that it’s a big hall with a bar which is mostly used for music but they fill it with seats for comedy gigs. It’s not our best venue for comedy, in my opinion, you’ll have wanted Eden Court for that. However, it’ll do nicely if it gets you up here FINALLY.

All that said, I can’t f*@#ing go. I’m due my first baby on that very date. Not that they ever turn up when they’re meant to but still… I’m not sure a large bellied lady laughing to the point of potential water-breaking is a good idea.

I’m gutted (for myself) but delighted you’re coming up here and will spread the word to all fellow Invernessian/Highlanders comedy fans.
