Two night stand
Tonight, I have the honour of being Comedy Controller of Dave. This is a made-up position but my sense of honour is not diminished by that. What it means is that I chose their shows for (some of) the evening and will be introducing them with a pithy series of remarks in my usual, not-quite-looking-at-the-camera fashion. These links were recorded so long ago that I can’t remember any of what I said; I’m not even sure if I could talk back then. The shows themselves are a mixture of things which I was in (like Buzzcocks, with old Minchin) and things my friends were in (The Bubble) and things I just like (Louis Theroux). Obviously I had to choose from Dave’s usual programming roster and could not show, for example, the moon landing or the whole of the Simpsons Season 6. But it should be pretty entertaining if you like televised comedy shows.
This whole palaver is of course a mere taster for the fact that next Thursday ny ‘One Night Stand’ is on Dave. It’s a gig by me in Bristol with Andi Osho and Alex Horne. I wore a smart shirt and talked very quickly and it was all fairly stressful actually but it seemed to go fine enough.
So in marketing terms, I guess my ‘key messages’ are: watch this stuff tonight; watch the thing on Thursday.
This has been one of my relatively infrequent Blogs About My Actual Career. Thank you.

Palaver is a great word.

Saw the One Night Stand show in Bristol and looking forward to seeing it again on TV!
Going out tonight so will miss the takeover, guess if I record the individual shows I might not get the in-between-shows commentary.

I do want to watch you. Very very much. I love that Buzzcocks episode.
But, I am currently stuggling to stay awake. I might just set my alarm for the beginning of it and sleep until then. Then watch it and go back to bed.
This spells disaster for a normal sleep pattern but may have to be done.

Misha and I have the same plans for tonight, it seems.

I don’t have Dave, but I will watch in spirit. A concept that makes no sense whatsoever, but should be appreciated anyway.

Sad but true, but this is basically my plan for tonight.

As long as you promise NOT to show “Top Gear” I will definately be watching you tonight:-)
