£142
A grand total of seventy-one rabbit or hare-related Comments means I’m donating £142 to Comic Relief. Quite a lot of people who never normally pipe up were all too happy to say something when there was money in it for poor people, MY money. Bloody typical. I suppose what’s more interesting is that (looking at my stats software) round about 700 people read it, as usual, so a vast majority of people are too shy to leave a Comment even when there’s two quid in it for Africa. Interesting experiment anyway and I think Terry Wogan would have been pretty pleased with us. I shall make the payment online now. Not sure how much they raised otherwise, it’s often more than a grand, but we certainly haven’t done any harm. Well done to us and to everyone who made money by being covered in soft cheese or having a sponsored silence and what-not.
Over the last couple of days I’ve recorded Good News Week (which is a lot like the British show Mock The Week) and You Have Been Watching (which is a lot like the British show You Have Been Watching) for Aussie TV. I now head back to Europe, read bits of my book to the German public, then return down here. The Melbourne Comedy Festival starts in just over a week. I have arranged to appear on TV back in Britain in the meantime, though, so you don’t feel left out. Details to come. Now I’d better make that payment. I know so much about rabbits now. It’s a good feeling.

Apparently You Have Been Watching is only on pay TV (the Comedy Channel). This makes me sad
It also makes me sad that due to flying to Hobart and being all busy I only just got around to reading yesterdays blog so I missed out on writing a rabbit comment!

I count myself as a lurker (that words sounds so stalkerish) but I would make the effort to google and post a quick rabbit fact for a £2 donation. On the other hand, if all 700 people did that, it would be quite a hefty donation.

I’m still astonished about the number of Europe to Oz flights that you’re doing in the near future. As someone who finds a 7 hour flight quite long and irritating, I hope your longer ones are more spacious and either restful or productive. I honestly don’t know how you do it.

Ah I feel bad now. I was in the audience for Comic Relief last night so I’ve only just read the blog. I will go and research rabbits and comment, even though it’s probably too late. So I’ll also donate directly on the Comic Relief website. How’s that? Such an amazing cause.

In the end they raised something bonkers like 70 million? I can’t remember the precise amount. It makes me sad though that even with all that money it still won’t get fixed.
Also, please try not to die of exhaustion Mark, we’re really rather fond of you.
