Baking pleas/booking fees

All blogging from here on in is bound to be overshadowed by the approach of the blog’s first birthday, which takes place the day after tomorrow. You now have a limited to time to convey pictures of your cakes to the address set up by Tibbs, or comments on how I have totally changed your life to the address publicised yesterday by Cyrmuangel, who writes:

I now have a grand total of FOUR people’s thoughts on the blog. Please do email – I can keep your name off your comments if you would like and I promise not to spam your email address (I signed the Official Secrets Act once, so am officially very trustworthy!)
It doesn’t need to be long (in fact, preferably keep it to one or two sentences) or earth-shatteringly insightful, since everyone who reads the blog knows what it is about really – just a brief thought.

We definitely need more than four or the blog might appear, to outside observers, less than the global phenomenon it has become.

Now, another piece of admin. It concerns the DVD record at the Bristol Hippodrome (Biggest Gig In The Whole Of My Life Probably). Some people are reporting paying more than others for tickets (which were meant to be set at the please-come-and-see-this price of £10). The problem is quite a big levy added by people like Ticketmaster. I am extremely eager for anyone within forty thousand miles of Bristol to come to this gig, but for now – till this inconsistency gets sorted out – it might be best to buy direct from the venue if you can. If you’ve already paid over the odds, we’ll either sort it out or I will buy you the equivalent value in fudge.

And now I’ll do some jokes in York. Bye.

“Stunning “show last night in Bromsgrove-you should get on the speakers more often!
Have had the pleasure of seeing you three times over the last two and a half years, was dissapointed to hear some of the same material again-maybe time for a change?
P.S Fantastic book, most impressed. Rich

Does anyone knwo what the email address is to send cake pictures to if there is one? Or the sentimental email?

I am definitely not going to have time to do a cake, which is a shame because I really was going to. Unfortunately coursework and uni sample days got in the way. I am going to try and make myself write something for the thoughts thing though.

Kathryn, and anyone else wondering, definitely not too late to send in some thoughts as I intend to look at them this evening (c. 8pm GMT). The more the merrier.

To clarify, I didn’t mind paying more than £10 for each ticket, just warning others.

I paid more than £10 but I really don’t mind – you’re worth it :-) And really it’s still cheap compared with some gigs. Very excited as I seem to have got seats in the 2nd row – yay! :)

I just wrote in some general crap that really meant nothing. I do like the blog a lot though. I probably could have just said that.
Cake picture also sent. I am in said picture, hope you didn’t want it to be strictly cake only!

As Beth has already eloquently said, I now feel like buying a Ticketmaster ticket purely in order to claim back the difference in fudge. That sounds like a substantial amount of fudge. And I like saying the word.

I emailed in my thoughts but I accidentally wrote several haiku and a limerick instead. You can choose to abridge these at will.

Judging by how quickly this anniversary has come around I’m getting abit worried that 10 years are going to pass by and I won’t be ready for it to end.

If I wasn’t 14 hours away from an essay deadline without having yet written anything beyond a title I would send in a comment. Is tomorrow too late?

I feel like I’m always making excuses here for not fulfilling my duty as a blog reader. I have 9 years to pull my metaphorical socks up.

    I worry you’re too nice.

    Where’s your own fudge? I don’t understand.

I have sent an e-mail with my thoughts on the blog but won’t be able to do a cake, problem with our house is that we lack baking equipment and I thought just buying one would be cheeky.
Can people who can’t make your DVD recording have fudge? Haven’t eaten fudge in ages.

We tried to buy tickets directly from the Hippodrome, but it redirects to ticketmaster, so cost £33 for 2 tickets.
    Looking forward to it though!

Is it wrong that I now *want* to buy from Ticketmaster and forward the receipt to you with a helpful note as to my favourite type of fudge and as it would *technically* be someone else buying the fudge for me it therefore does not contravene the agreement I have going with myself that the only food I can buy for myself is lentils^ but that I’m allowed to eat anything that someone else buys for me?

^this is, unfortunately, not really that much of an exaggeration

I don’t know what we paid. You’d have to ask Amy. Can we have fudge anyway? i quite like fudge.

I’ve now sent my message to Cymruangel. Better things have been written I will confess but putting thoughts on the blog into words was hard. It sort of feels like a warm inside hug when I read it. And a panic ridden rodent of some sort when people hack into the blog. Or an increasingly restless toddler in the waiting room of a doctors when it is 11:56 pm and no blog has been posted yet.

I’ve met great people and had fabulous fun with them both in person and via twitter through this blog. And have more affection for Mark and his family and his career and the readers than a basic stranger really has any right to.

Also my cake is baked and cooled and will be iced and photographed tomorrow.

Ok I’ve done both, altho my cake didn’t look much in a photo – but tasted bloody nice! And I’m a bit brain dead tonight so have no idea if my thoughts made sense! But all is good, as they say.

I’ve sent in a comment. It’s not really the most exciting thing ever, but hey I tried :P I’m also planning on baking my cake today! So the picture of that will be sent in soon. Hopefully.

I’ve emailed in some sentimental shizz about how Mark totally launched my little stand-up career. Woo! :P
