Each day is Valentine's Day

Today’s agenda: apology for yesterday; anniversary admin; Facebook admin; brief Valentine message.

1. Sorry for those of you who struggled to get online from your various haunts last night, only to find I’d written nothing but ‘it’s my birthday!!!’. As if I was drunk at my party and had suddenly thought ‘SHITSHITSHITTHEBLOG!!’ around 11pm. It was a great day/night; thanks for all your salutations.

2. We now have, courtesy of Cymruangel, an email address for you to send your remarks in honour of the blog’s 1st birthday, which is just around the corner. It’s watsonbloganniversary@gmail.com. (If you’ve just tuned in, we’re collecting brief messages to thread together into a sort of celebratory uberblog for the ‘big day’.)

3. So, I have a Facebook fan page, which I never really go to. UNTIL NOW. It turns out people actually do read it. Being insecure, I was delighted to find this out. Facebook says I have to prove it’s an official page by linking to it from my website, so here it is: http://tinyurl.com/mwfacebooklarks
I don’t know whether having used tinyurl to make it a more fun address means that this won’t count in Facebook’s eyes, but I do know that this is a terribly dull sentence and I will put it out of its misery now.

Anyway, the point is, if you’re the sort of person who does not like Twitter and wishes I wouldn’t always use it, now here is another way to be kept abreast of my little life. But the thing is, if you’re reading this blog, you already know far too much about me. Still. It’s worth knowing eh?

and 4. Happy Valentine’s Day, but if you’re one of the many people very lonely on this night, do remember (a) there are many others in the same boat; (b) Valentine’s Day – while fun sometimes – is kind of a bollocks idea even if you ARE in a relationship. And also, you’ll be fine in the end. Trust me.

Thanking you.

I wondered why suddenly I’d had a couple of updates from your page pop up on my Facebook feed. Gives it a bit of variety!

I’d totally forgotten about the 17th … I shall hide in shame, but in my defence the date had never actually registered in my brain for some reason. I am home all day tomorrow but I’ll be beavering away applying for a job so I doubt I’ll have time to bake a cake :( However, I can send a sentence or two to Cymruangel :)

    Aaaaah Ella Fitzgerald.

We did “Valentine’s” in January, since the Welsh have St Dwynwen’s day, so yesterday was somewhat a non-event.

I now have a grand total of FOUR people’s thoughts on the blog. Please do email – I can keep your name off your comments if you would like and I promise not to spam your email address (I signed the Official Secrets Act once, so am officially very trustworthy!)
It doesn’t need to be long (in fact, preferably keep it to one or two sentences) or earth-shatteringly insightful, since everyone who reads the blog knows what it is about really – just a brief thought. :)

Hi Mark. Glad you had a great birthday and Valentine’s Day. My husband gave me a lovely romantic card, bunch of flowers and big box of chocs’ which made me feel that I really don’t deserve him! We’ve always kept up with Valentine’s prezzies- even though we’ll have been married nearly 21 years! I think it’s sweet but that’s just me. Traceyx

My thoughts on valentine’s day were confined to ‘oh, it’s f**king valentine’s day’ and then getting on with writing essays. And trying to prevent my neighbours from turning into pyromaniacs and ruining valentine’s day for other people by forcing us all to evacuate the building.

    Happy Birthday to Dawn!

I didn’t even know it was Valentine’s Day until I got to work and someone gave me a sucker. I’ve never been fussed about Valentine’s Day, since I’m quite happy not being in a relationship. Still, I had a rather good day and am now looking forward to buying some day-after-Valentine’s discounted chocolate!

I want to send a blog remark but I don’t know what to say. Hmm…

I have neither Facebook or Twitter so I will have to continue stalking you from here, I’m afraid. If I ever do let myself be pressured into getting my Facebook back I will “like” you though.

Also your Valentines reassurance is very reassuring. I spent today watching tv with my brother while my mum went to see her boyfriend. Now that is depressing however you look at it. Although if I’m honest, even though I felt the need to share it I don’t actually care that much. Weird.

I’m glad you enjoyed your birthday x

Mark, you know those ‘experience days’ you can buy, like a day racing a car or paint balling. Have you ever thought about cashing in on that market?

You could sell a ‘behind the scenes backstage tour’ at your live shows for an extra fee or a charity donation!!

If so, at Chesterfield on Thurs I would like to sign up and make a donation to a charity of your choice!!

Happy Birthday (for yesterday). And Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone. I don’t actually like valentine’s day, but meh. And that’s not because I’m single, I just think it’s silly. But, when I was in uni earlier they gave us all free condoms just in case.

    Anji,
Thankyou for the Happy Birthday wishes,
    I am 52 today :-) xx

Dawn does this mean Happy Birthday is in order? If so consider it wished!

Valentines day eh, after 9 years of being in a relationship it seems romance is slightly lacking, but hey ho! I hope everyone has had a lovely day and I’ll send love and hugs to you all, coz if nothing else it’s always nice to know there’s a hug somewhere when you need it so ‘ xoxoxo ‘ to everyone!

I think it’s funny… You wrote on your fb status you were surprised people read your ‘page’… But if people ‘like’ the page, then anything you write probably pops up on their timeline, see? And sort of jumps out in a big bold speech bubble. Which is nice! But just makes me laugh to imagine how you see fb working. It shouldn’t. But it just does, a bit. I now am aware of you on far too many mediums, though. Glad birthday was good. I’m away to sing a song I once heard sung by a certain temporarily-ogre-bereffed animated donkey.
