REQUEST STOPS: Summer 2011

Right, here are the first load of dates for the summer, based on the desires of people voting on this very blog. Please note there will be PLENTY more to come. This is a far from exhaustive list. You’ll notice for example there is still no Scotland, Ireland or Wales. We are saving them for the autumn, as well as a host of other democratically-selected destinations. So don’t panic.

Most of them are places I haven’t been in the last two years, as promised, or in some cases ‘ever’. The couple of exceptions are places that got a lot of votes like Manchester or Brighton, where I’ve tried to go to more intimate venues.

As I say, lots more to come, but this starts us off. All should be on sale now. Mixture of old and new material. Larks.

June 2 Brighton Komedia
June 3 Harrogate Theatre
June 4 Barrow Forum 28
June 5 Chorley Little Theatre
June 7 Exeter Phoenix
June 9 Cardiff Glee
June 12 Birmingham Glee
June 14 Fareham Ashcroft Arts
June 16 Shrewsbury Theatre Seven
June 17 Manchester Dancehouse
June 18 Kendal Brewhouse
June 22 Bromsgrove Artrix
June 24 Southend Palace
June 25 Aldershot West End Centre
June 29 St Albans Alban Arena
June 30 Berwick Maltings
July 4 Nottingham Glee
July 5 Newbury Corn Exchange
July 7 Canterbury Gulbenkian
July 10 Portsmouth Wedgwood Rooms
July 11 Epsom Playhouse
July 14 Wimborne Tivoli
July 15 Worcester Huntingdon Hall

Come and see me will you?

I should mention once more, for Australian and New Zealand-ese readers, that my shows in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland and Wellington are also very much on sale. And in fact, I’m glad to say, selling quite well. Thanks everyone. See you soon.

[...] at Your House pt 2 everywhere. I mean everywhere. I was really impressed by Mark Watson doing his Request Stops tour. He said he’d go wherever people wanted him. I’m thinking the same, so if you know [...]

    Hi Mark
I met you briefly at your book signing in Melbourne last year and I really enjoyed your book. Sending you this email is a result of a string of coincidences too! I’m hoping you will be interested in donating a pair of tickets for your Cardiff gig for a fundraisinig event I’m organising in Llanelli on April 8th (quiz & curry night at the Thomas Arms – a warm welcome awaits if you’d like to attend!).Monies are being raised for Ride2Rescue – five Melbourne lads cycling from London to Melbourne to raise awareness about child trafficking & slavery issues (auspiced by World Vision Australia). For more information go to http://www.ride2rescue.org . Many thanks Mark and fingers crossed.

Epsom! That’s bloody well close enough for my liking. And on my Mum’s birthday! I might have to convince her to come. She could ask you to sign her rainy day (that was her ‘abstract’ idea for a weird thing for you to sign).

I very much enjoyed a) the show and b) the brief chat yesterday. Thanks for not batting an eyelid at either the head, or me and Simone standing awkwardly by the door repeating various numbers and train times at each other.

    Croydon?

I’m out of the UK until mid-August… Bristolian (maybe you could go to Tobacco Factory?) but willing to travel to just about anywhere!

Exeter tickets brought today and on the calendar ready for June! And double points for 8pm start as can walk right over from work and not be late! Was worried I’d be the one having the trick played on! Roll on June!

Come to swansea! I know its not a pretty city but we need the entertainment!

  10. Posted by Ian on February 12, 2011

The Maltings in Berwick has you listed as playing 1st July rather than 30th June.

Why aren’t you coming to Adelaide?? Adelaide Fringe Festival starts next week and you’re not on the bill. Please add an Adelaide show when you come to Australia.

I’m so glad you’ve chosen somewhere other than the Manchester Apollo! I’ve never been to the Dancehouse, but I’ve walked past it a lot so I’m sure I’ll be able to find my way there.

Ireland! Not sure if I’ll be in Ireland then but here’s hoping.

I am happy that you are going to Australia! But I’m not currently in Australia, so I’m going to vote for Southampton. I am, of course, willing to travel to see you (as evidenced by seeing you in Bournemouth tonight), but Southampton would be awfully convenient. Just sayin’ :)

By saving Scotland, Ireland and Wales for autumn, can I still hope that you’re coming to Ireland?

    Exeter!! Legend. :)

Just a note to say almost all the dates have pages with ticket links on the forum bar the odd one or two where they’re unlisted at this time

Well I suppose I could do Exeter. Who am I kidding? I SHALL SEE YOU IN EXETER.
    :D

  24. Posted by Laurs on February 10, 2011

Hurrah! Birmingham Glee! Have been wanting to go there for ages, now can! (I do realise I could have gone before, but… well I don’t really have an excuse, still, back to the excitment!)

And will now starting asking people to come with me to experience the awesomeness that is you, cos they missed out last time!

    Hurrah!

I shall assume Northampton will be on the Autumn list…

  26. Posted by EmT on February 10, 2011

EPSOM RUDDY PLAYHOUSE. YOU LEGEND! Sorry, I shall stop shouting now. I am over excited today anyway as I have found out I have a ticket for England vs Scotland at Twickers in March and that the Olympic road cycle route is going through the town in which I live in the Surrey Hills. It seems good things seem to come in threes as well!

I notice Ottawa is not mentioned. Darn. (Not terribly surprised, though.)

And because I tend to boast about anything, even when it’s ridiculous, I have been to eight places on this list.

  28. Posted by John Ryan on February 10, 2011

    No Blackburn :-)

  29. Posted by Meg on February 10, 2011

My geography skills are abysmal so I’m going to have to spend a long time with a map in order to work out which are relatively near to me. I will be back soon….. *takes out an atlas and settles down in a corner for what could be quite a few days*

  30. Posted by Misha on February 10, 2011

Fingers crossed i’ll see you at the Cardiff show. It’s a bit of a hike but the Glee Club is walkable from halls.

  31. Posted by Anna on February 10, 2011

You’re coming to Southend, yay! Unfortunately I’ll be at Glastonbury that weekend, so I won’t be able to come- boo!

  32. Posted by Patrick on February 10, 2011

No Northampton? :O This is a travesty.

  33. Posted by Louise on February 10, 2011

CHORLEY! :D YES. See you there, sir!
