Announcement of an announcement
A while ago, it seems now, I asked for your suggestions on where I should go next time I tour. The shadowy figures who organise my career have been sifting the many suggestions, totalling up votes, discarding ones like Afghanistan and others posted by people seeking to trap and kill me; and finally, negotiating with venues. We are now on the verge of announcing a WHOLE WHACK OF NEW DATES for June and July. And they will be followed by a FURTHER WHACK for the autumn. But first, the summer ones. They will appear here at some point in the next week. You can consider this a tease.
Cumbria. Shrewsbury. St Albans. Your time is coming.
Virtually all of them are places I didn’t visit on this tour, and in some cases have never played in at all. A couple are my favourite cities from the past tour, but this time in more intimate venues. My intention is to fuse parts of the old show (that is, the one I’m just finishing up with in the coming weeks) with new stuff. So if you have seen me in the past few months, it might not be a good idea to come to the summer ones expecting a brand new show. You should wait till later in the year. Unless you’re one of these people, whose patience amazes me, who will see the same jokes three times in three weeks and still laugh. You know who you are. And I know who you are. And the Where’s Watson league table honours you.
But even if you HAVE seen me recently, this tour will feature enough little- or never-seen material to satisfy most people, as well as some special interactive surprises.
So there you go, pretty exciting. All you need to know now is the venues and dates. But you don’t! You can’t!! Because this is still a tease!! OMG, as they say. Bet you can’t wait for the actual announcement. I’m starting to get quite twitchy myself, and I’ve got the tour dates right here in front of me…

Glad to hear you give my home town a mention on Soccer AM today. Chesterfield doesn’t often get heard of, last time someone said it on TV was on Coronation Street……Hilda Ogden went to live there…(or here for me)….oh, and we once got to the FA Semi Final!

Mark.
Today I got a 1st in my first ever University assignment.
It was very stressful and if it wasn’t for Simone Ferrara and Zoe Fell I would probably have not made it through this first term (at least not with my sanity in tact).
If it wasn’t for your blog, I wouldn’t know Simone Ferrara and Zoe Fell very well at all.
I would like you to know that.
I don’t care if the BBC don’t ever commission any of your brilliant shows, you’re better than Russell Howard, Michael McIntyre and Kevin Bridges put together.

Just wondering why Bristol Hippdrome is getting a lot of mentions on Ticketmaster tonight … something about a DVD…??

Consider my excitement built! I am hopeful a date on the tour will be near my birthday as that would be brilliant.

Crikey you just don’t stop, do you?

This is definitely the most excitement I’ve ever got from the mention of St Albans

You’re getting quite good at this whole building up tension thing you know.

What on earth are you implying Mr Watson? As if there’s anyone who’d come and see the same show 6 or 7 times….. Ahem.

The ‘where’s Watson’ comment made me laugh when I noticed the design of your shirt on this page. Living in Australia, specifically Brisbane, I will add myself to that league table in March.
On an unrelated note, I’ve been following the progress of cyclone Yasi on Twitter, the tag is TCYasi, I always misread it as TYSIC.
