Coming up: singing, charitable act, Wembley show

Phew, that was quite a revelation yesterday about the live show, eh? A big enough piece of news that I’m just going to use today’s blog to refresh your memory about some ‘appearances’ I’ve got coming up.

Quite simply I am in the Horne Section on Monday, in the West End. Me and Horne and Key and a band will be getting busy. I shall be trying to achieve at least one of my 31 New Year’s Resolutions. It will be quite a show by any estimation. It’s not often Horne and Key and I get to all be on together. I reckon we’ll have suits on, etc.

On Wednesday 2nd, I’ll be popping up in the Get Connected comedy night on the Tattershall Castle, which is a nice boat where they do comedy nights. Right in the Thames there, it is. Looking onto the London Eye. Get Connected is a valuable charity which provides a phone line for young people to talk about, as young people say, whatever. I’ll be doing old and new funnies. If you’re in London you should come to this, or the Monday show.

If you’re not in London, there are still those Reading-y, Devon-y, Chesterfield-y and some more tour dates in the next few weeks. If you’re in other parts of Britain, I can tell you we will revealing 2011′s Special Requested-By-You Tour Shows IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS. If you’re in Australia or New Zealand, you should already be striding out in your T-shirt and ‘thongs’ to get tickets for my forthcoming Antipodean jaunts. If you’re the one guy from Finland that reads this – I’m still working on it, mate.

And on Sunday this weekend – now, this is really something if you like football. Sorry to mention football yet again, if not. But basically I’m going to be at Wembley doing the FA Cup draw. This for me will be a bit of a dream. The FA Cup draw is one of football’s most venerable traditions. When I was small I would listen to it on the radio and make my own version by writing teams on bits of paper, and picking them out of an old ice-cream tub. Now, thanks to the Respect campaign thing, I will be ACTUALLY DRAWING THE REAL TEAMS OUT FOR THE REAL FA CUP. Wowee. So even if you dislike sport so much you wish all balls so far manufactured were at the bottom of the sea, it might be worth tuning in to ITV1 on Sunday afternoon to see me about as excited as Tarrant just before the first person won the million. Unless that was the one where the guy cheated. Well, but Tarrant was still excited. He didn’t know at the time.

Thanking you.

I’m glad i didn’t see this before because it made a great surprise turning it on to see you picking the balls, even with your tiny fingernails.

Mum’s not terribly pleased with your Burnley draw Mark (yes, your) but you made up for it with Man Utd v Crawley Town. Nice work. x

Are you making fun of us using the word ‘thongs’? Mean :P Anyhow, of course I have tickets already. Though there was no striding out to get them as I got them online *facepalm* Shall I go to all of them?

I shall be at the Horne Section on Monday, I will be knackered as I will just have got back from an interview in Nottingham but I cant wait!

I am utterly jealous of the FA Cup draw doing. How flaming exciting! Also given the whistle has just gone and we’re through to the next round, could you please sort my team out with a nice fixture? I’d be ever so grateful.

That all sounds very exciting. It’ll be really fun, I’m sure.

And there’s something in that list I actually get to go to! Yay even more for that. I’m looking forward to Torquay so much [: x

Even if any tickets are available still for Horne Section, I definitely won’t have any money to even get there (stupid Jobcentre – I used the last of my money to sign on yesterday even though they’re not paying me anything yet. Grr. Sorry, I’m just frustrated with them). However, I hope it goes wonderfully well and that all present enjoy themselves immensely!

Also, football means nothing to me but I am over the moon for you! I really like that you did your own version as a kid, and now you’re getting to do the real thing :D

The FA Cup draw’s quite a thing for any football fan – wow. Hope it’s even more amazing than your small self imagined and that they’ve got something posher than an ice cream tub.

Sad that I’ll miss the three of you back together, especially as I suspect I know which resolution’s involved and that it will be brilliant. Have a fantastically fun evening.

I’m well excited for you about the FA Cup draw! If you could arrange for Forest to be in it for me, that’d be ace!

Seriously though, how cool is that?! Hurrah!

I’m on the list for the Devon-y thing. I’ll be at Torquay on the 9th. Enjoy Sunday! Like you say for any little person who loves football you actually have your dream coming true! That’s fab.

The FA Cup news is fantastic. What a gig!

Oh I am so sad to be missing you at the Horne Section! I’m sure it will be marvellous; I saw the show once in Edinburgh and went to the Christmas Bash in London and both were excellent.

That’s great news about the FA cup! I’ll confess I don’t know who Tarrant is, but it sounds like he was very excited, and that you are very exited, and thus I am very exited for you.

And while you’re on about various appearances around the world, any chance you’ll be visiting North America at some point? I’m still sore about being in Korea when you did the Just For Laughs festival!

Can you sneak Liverpool in there for me. Cheers

  19. Posted by Anna Lowman on January 28, 2011

You’re doing the freaking FA Cup draw??!! My word I seriously couldn’t be happier for you. Imagine, the 30th might be the day Murray wins a grand slam and you make the draw. I’ll ruddy implode.

Like Zoe I was booked for Gutted before Horne Section was announced but I’m very sorry in both senses of the word not to be seeing you three lovely people on stage together…

  20. Posted by Zoe Fell on January 28, 2011

I’m in London (amazingly) on the 31st, but have a prior engagement at Gutted, along with quite a few other Watsonians. Sorry about that, I’m really sorry.

BUT, I shall be seeing you on the 8th in Plymouth. YAAAY. I’ve been crossing off the days of my calendar. I’m a little excited, to say the least.

As for the FA Cup Draw, that’s awesome! I’m seriously chuffed for you. I’ll be getting Dad to set the tape for it. (I still say that despite having one of those recording box things, odd.)

    Ramble over.

I shall be excited on your behalf. It seems like a fun thing to do.

With regards to Monday’s Hornse Section, i’m actually at Gutted that night, but shall be pelting over post show to give Amy her money and hopefully find you and hug you. It seems you need one.
