Christmas catch-up
What with the census, the ‘awards of the year’, that great big poem and so on, I might just let today go down as a chance for
everyone to catch up with this tireless blog. The blog just chunters on mercilessly, like one of those shopping channels which you put on by accident on Christmas Day and are horrified to find broadcasting live, with some brave girl gritting her teeth and describing a pearl necklace as ‘unmissable’. We’ve not even had a terrifying Near Blogless Day despite the festive activity.
I’ve had a very good Christmas. Fun fact: haven’t watched the TV once.
Right, I’ll leave you to do your commenting homework. Those of you who are fully up to date with census, nominations, everything- you can request a subject for tomorrow and I will try to cover ALL of them in one sensational December 29 blog.

No TV at all? You didn’t miss much.

Glad you had a great Christmas Mark. To be honest, you didn’t miss much where the television was concerned.I have to agree with Anna – Upstairs Downstairs was wonderful. However, unlike Anna I felt disappointed with the Royle Family this year, it seemed to be struggling a bit like the My Family Christmas special which I thought dragged a bit as well. I have recorded a few things though, Poirot, Dr Who and a few other things I’ve yet to watch. Benidorm was great though! Tracey x

The Christmas T.V. was diabolical!

Right, I’ve finished my homework at long last (it took ages, sir!) and have just now added my scree to both the census blog and the Late Review one. I have given up sleep for you, Watson!
Too tired to think of a subject to add to your melange for tomorrow….just make sure you work in the word ‘vitreous’ somewhere. No reason – just a random word for you to play with.

Glad you had a good Christmas!

I still have some things to read but I’d like you to talk a bit about starting at university and things like that, I start in a few months and I’m super nervous! xx

What’s your opinion on Christmas lights on houses? Chavvy or just ‘festive’?
Predictably Christmas related, it just seems to divide people.
We, as a group, seem to be collecting your opinion on everything, ever. Even chocolate Oranges. I love this weird blog.

Happy weird bit between Christmas and New Year everybody! You haven’t missed much avoiding the telly, but Upstairs Downstairs and The Royle Family were both superb. You can dispense with the rest.

Tell us one of your Mock The Week stories you promised but never got around to at the Ipswich gig!

Hey Mark, hope you had a good Christmas. About a topic for tomorrow, I was having a debate over the turkey this year, about whether or not Christmas was overcommercialised. What are your views?

The peculiarity in which (amongst comedy circles) Edinburgh is effectively a by word for August. The number of times i’ve heard “What are you doing this Edinburgh?” etc, I imagine it annoys the locals.
Mind you, by the same dint, i’m seriously considering crossing out August on next years calender and renaming it “Edinburgh”.
Merry Christmas Watson, well done on telly avoidance. I’ve not watched any telly live apart from Dr Who, although i’ve seen a bit on catch up in the hours between 11 and 3 when everyone else has sodded off to bed.

I feel a challenge coming on here…
What is your method of cracking open a Chocolate Orange? I have tried many methods, over many years but I think we need a Watson trademarked method.
Thank you.

I’m up-to-date! As usual my mind is vacant of anything even remotely interesting to request as a subject, but I look forward to mass-subject-coverage tomorrow!
