Eve
Christmas Eve is one of my favourite days of the year. It’s all dark and murky from about noon onwards and everyone’s slightly pissed already and everyone sneaks off to wrap things furtively and the presents gather under the tree and you can sing about shepherds/God without anyone minding and you play Mario Kart on your Wii with your sisters. That’s how it is at my house, anyway.
So I’m not doing a proper blog today but I will replicate the atmosphere of festive anticipation by announcing a SURPRISE GIFT to any readers loyal/bored/Orthodox Jewish enough to be reading this page tomorrow (Christmas Day) and the next day (Boxing Day). Basically it’s a two part humorous narrative poem. Hardly anyone has ever laid eyes on it before. It’ll be our little secret.
There you go. Obviously, you could enjoy your Christmas and then check back on the 27th and enjoy the whole thing at once. But just in case you ARE at a loose end, see the prospect of this two-part blog as a gift under your mental tree, if you will. A poorly-wrapped one. Which you can see is a poem. But still! Exciting!
HO HO HO!

Don’t mind me… Just catching up! Got a bit behind over the holidays.
I think Christmas Eve is lovely too. Partly because it’s my birthday, though. We always have a Christmas/birthday dinner on the night of Christmas eve which is nice.
Now I am 20, though, which feels a bit weird.

I’ll be in my grandma’s internetless house tomorrow, so I won’t be online till about one am on the 26th.
Just want to wish everyone here a very merry Christmas. I hope all your loved ones got to you with the snow being in the way.

Merry Christmas Mark! I hope you have a fantastic day and enjoy you’re very well deserved break! I’ll be one of the readers tomorrow, I don’t even have the excuse of being any of the things above. And Merry Christmas all Watsonians! Love xx

Merry Christmas, Mark! And festive greetings to Emily, Kit and all of your wider family. I’m planning to sneak a peek at your blog tomorrow & Boxing Day, despite my husband threatening to surgically remove my laptop from me for the duration (I still have iPhone access anyway – hah!)
I’ve had a particularly nice Xmas Eve this year since I got ready earlier than usual for guests who were due to arrive on 23rd – but then they deferred till this afternoon, which made it more relaxing. Even a dash to Argos this morning went well. Off to Midnight Mass in a bit, with son & son’s girlfriend.
No little kids around to wake us at scrack of dawn; quite the opposite problem, persuading adult sons to get up for present opening before lunchtime!

Merry Christmas to everyone in this lovely little mad thing that is the Mark Watson community.
I hope you all get everything you wish for (mainly because most of you are so bloody lovely I’m pretty sure that you all wish mostly for world peace). May your turkey be moist, your roasties be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside and your sprouts be edible.*
With love and best wishes to you and yours,
C

A very merry Christmas everyone xx.
Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow Mr Watson and that your little one enjoys his very first visit from the bearded fat man. Love to you and all the family Mark xx.

Sending Christmas joy to all the Watsonians (and the main man himself)!
I had a massive 3 hour shift to do this morning at the library and weirdly, we were very very busy. I suspect some people had forgotten it was Christmas Eve. My area manager was possibly the grumpiest person in the world but I wasn’t going to let that get me down when there was a mound of presents waiting for me at home!!
Gingerbread making shall commence soon…
Have a great day everybody! xxx

Merry Christmas everyone!
I shall do my best at reading tomorrow, and boxing day, as I’m sure they’ll be times when being busy on my phone will help defuse or distract!
Have a wonderful time everyone, whatever your doing wherever you may be!

Christmas Day always kind of tails off around 8pm anyway. And I’d rather read the blog than the university books I’m getting from “Santa”.
Happy Christmas, Joyeux Noel, etc.

Today I’m at work (I’ve no holidays left or else I wouldn’t be). Though I’ve no actual work to do as all the people on my projects are off until the New Year. So today I will be tracking Santa and chatting to the hardy few who have also made it into the office. I even made cranberry cookies so we’ve got something nice to eat.
I will of course be reading tomorrow, but probably late in the evening when I’ve helped cook Christmas dinner for the family.
Merry Christmas everyone

Merry Christmas Watson & Watsonians!
Although I could just say that tomorrow. Because I will definitely be reading. Even if I’m not at a loose end.

Hi Mark. You were great on the Comedy Annual the other night – I loved the “Romp” jokes! I’ll look forward to the poem and I’d just like to wish you, Emily and Kit a wonderful Christmas and to everyone else who posts on this site – have a great Christmas and All The Best for 2011. Tracey x

The Ho Ho Ho! sign off there actually made me snort out loud, I’m not entirely sure why that tickled me so much, but it did

The sooner Christmas is over, the better in our house. The blogs will help pass the time, even if it’s only 5 minutes distraction. Bah humbug.

I am a permanent loose end.

Merry Christmas Mark and everyone! I’m sure I’ll be checking in sometime tomorrow and boxing day… I FRICKIN LOVE CHRISTMAS! Have a great one.

Today I will mostly be pottering about in the kitchen and tracking Santa’s progress online (which is brilliant fun). Merry Christmas to all x

I had every intention of reading the blog on Christmas and Boxing day! If I couldn’t steal the laptop of the family friend whose house we’re going to tomorrow afternoon to check the blog, I would do it at about 11-ish when we got home.
If you’re going to make the effort to blog, I’ll put in the effort to read it!
I hope you have a lovely Christmas x

I won’t be able to read on the Day and the Day After, but Merry Christmas Mark – and Watsonians all. xx
(I swear to catch up though asap)

Ha, as if Christmas could keep me away from my internet! I hope all fellow Watsonians (and you too Mark THE Watson, of course) have a lovely Christmas

Do you know I’ve never had a mental tree before, but now I do. I could get a forest. A massive forest. With an ant colony and dappled sunlight. Racoons could thrive in it. Good god, this could be the start of something beautiful.
So, yes, I will read it tomorrow, Happy Christmas Eve!

I hope i can come on tomorrow (Christmas) but if not then Happy Christmas Eve and Happy Christmas to all of you!

I’ll still be reading the blog despite cries of “Stalker” from my family. I dont care. Its NOW MY TRADITION. and so shall it continue.
Posted by Misha on December 24, 2010
I am of course taking my laptop to Leicester tomorrow/later to read the blogs on. And so I can keep touch/watch dr who and not want to murder everyone.
Christmas Eve is always a nonentity in our house, presents don’t appear til father christmas brings them. And since i’ve left all mine in Cardiff i’m feeling grumpy about it all more than anything. Sorry, that’s not very festive, but it’s just gone 1am and I am, as the blog suggests, rather pissed.
Merry Christmas Watsons, Watsonians and everyone else.
Posted by Rick Procter on December 24, 2010
Dunno about being at a loose end, but I’ll deffo be reading the blog each day. That’s just how it is – I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Merry Xmas Watsonians one and all

I’ll definitely be at a loose end! I’m very bah humbug this year.
In saying that though, Merry Christmas Mark, Emily, Kit and the rest of the family and to all other blog readers.
Happy holidays! x

I can predict I will be at a loose end at some point, yes.
Excellent early blogging, by the way!
