Just getting ready to do the show so there’ll be nothing approaching a real blog today. All is well, I think. There’s been some hassle with the start time which has, ingeniously, been advertised as 7.30 in some places, and 8 in other places. It seems to all be fine now. Giles really is desperate for the computer so he can, y’know, set the show and stuff. It’s only right to give it to him. I’ll report back on the show tomorrow. Wish me luck. You can do it mentally, if you like. Bye!

Just wanted to say again how much I enjoyed the show. Absolutely fantastic! And it was one of the main justifications I used (mostly to myself, but a little bit to my family & friends) for taking another trip to the UK just months after Edinburgh, so thank you for that as well!

Thanks for a great show tonight Mark and for signing my book. Still can’t believe there wasn’t a kangaroo there. LOL!
Good to remember Mark’s Tey also with you

Excellent show doing Mr Watson. This is another one of those blog comments coming to you from the back of a night bus and fuelled by wine.

Hi Mark, I’ll write a more comprehensive comment tomorrow but THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I’m exceedingly glad I got to speak to you and found it rather amusing that you thought I’d made the tube map (it’s something I’d be tempted to do, to be fair). My brother was tempted to go to the loo during the second half but considering the number of people who weren’t chased, I’m rather glad he stayed and got to hear the whole lot.
… as I said, more comprehensive comment tomorrow, but really really thank you (and Giles)

My husband and I have just got home from your Apollo gig. Sorry we didn’t stay behind to say hello, thank you and get my copy of Eleven signed; we had to get back home to relieve the baby-sitters.
I am also someone not prone to exaggeration (why do so many people use the word ‘devastated’ these days?), but it is safe to say that we both enjoyed the evening thoroughly. I hope you felt very positive about how the gig went – you certainly should!
So a big thank you from us both. : )

I was thinking about your show tonight, I’m sure you’ll have been ace, as always.
And now, as I am a bit worse for wear, having consumed a fair bit of wine at my dept Christmas meal, I should now go to bed! x x

I had an amazing time! You were brilliant and there are certain phrases I’ll definately be trying to fit into general conversation. ^_^
And it was also lovely meeting you afterwards, you are one of the nicest and enthusiastic people I have ever met.
P.S. There are chocolate coins inside the stockings…

Break a leg Mark!
Horrid expression, but still tradition…except that I’m just noticing it’s 5PM here and with the time difference that probably means you’ve finished the show already.
I can’t help thinking that saying I hope you broke a leg increases the horrid factor without the benefit of tradition

I have a slightly pointless ramble to make here.
My Mum has always been mostly indifferent to any comedian I go to see a lot/never shut up about/like. This includes you (although she did admit to having ‘quite enjoyed’ the half episode of Kicks Off I made her watch whilst straightening her hair). She also had a Gran called Doreen who made a particular type of joke which our family then christened a ‘Doreen joke’. It was essentially when somebody would say something to her which she didn’t like the sound of and so she’d say ‘I’ll give you *enter specific word here*’ or ‘I’ll *enter specific word here* you!’
Back in Edinburgh, at the end of your book launch when we had given you our big scrapbook thing and were all discussing when we should have a mass meet-up (I am still upset this didn’t happen), you asked if I had to go back and if I couldn’t just stay up for the whole month. I said I had a Scott Pilgrim advanced screening to go to and your response was ‘I’ll advance screening you!’
This story has just made its way back to my Mum and I wouldn’t want to say for sure but I’m pretty certain you’ve just gone way up in her estimations. And I’m sure we’ll all agree this is the most of your worries.
GOOD LUCK (apart from the first four minutes which you’ve already done)
