Loved the show on Saturday night in Manchester, great performance, took my friend for her birthday and we both had a brilliant time! Thanks Mark … and just started reading your book – very entertaining !

I just watched ‘Mark Watson kicks off’ again, for good measure. I think it was even better than the first time.

Only Watsonians could make so many quite substantial comments out of a post like that. I really love this blog.

This is such a well thought out and intriguing post!
It would appear you are able to now type in your sleep. We should never miss a day now!
Hope you get the sleep you need (:

Yeah Watson, get some sleep! I get tired just reading your blog, one busy man… enjoy and relax, you deserve it. I’m gonna go do exactly the same!

I can’t seem to sleep tonight.
You can have my sleep though.
Although this is a one time offer, in future I may well need to sleep.
I hope you don’t think I’m selfish now.
I typed all this really quietly.

Saw you for the first time last night at the Apollo, you were hilarious! Absolutely loved the fact you were on stage as we all came in writing on the screen, was very original and extremely funny. Was great as a crowd warmer! Haha! Will definitely go and see you again!

Heh. Well, you definitely deserve a bit of a rest!

Yep, top gig last night Mark and lovely to finally meet face to face after all our phone interviews. And Amycool, what a great first comedy gig, may there be many more to come! Welcome to the world of comedy – be warned it’s addictive!

I wondered when you were going to and I’m relieved that you finally are after your busy week.
Went to my first stand up comedy gig last night at the apollo and it was the best I’ve ever seen!
It really was wonderful though. It was especially nice to be rewarded for punctuality for a change. Sadly, my boyfriend was knackered and after waiting for me to stand in the toilet queue for ages he didn’t look like he’d take kindly to me queueing to say hello (there was a crowd around you so big that for all I know they were stood around looking at a dead bird). I felt a bit robbed of points but as my Mummy already has a signed book, I couldn’t use that as an excuse.
The only downsides of last night were getting both of our bottles of water confiscated (and no doubt thrown in the bin rather than recycled), and having to sit on a seat designed for a person of 5 foot 4 or less.
The upsides were getting a free bus pass from a lady, which meant that my £3.50 pizza was free, and listening to a couple at the bus stop talking about the gig. Here is a transcription:
Girl: “I thought he was going to be good, but I didn’t think he’d be THAT good”
Boy: “He was alright”
Girl: “He was way better than Jimmy Carr”
Boy: “No he wasn’t”
Girl: “And Ricky Gervais”
Boy: “No”
Girl: “And Eddie Izzard”
Boy: “No he wasn’t”
Girl: “Well it was just my sense of humour”
Another odd thing were the 4 people in front of us who talked all the way through the first half and then mysteriously disappeared. Perhaps somebody killed them because they were so annoying. They were laughing a lot so it seems unlikely that they left through boredom.
And as if this message weren’t long enough, I watched your ITV4 show this morning and after a minute of thinking, “Oh dear, I know little to nothing about sport, this isn’t going to be enjoyable”, I started laughing and continued throughout (not constantly).
In summary, well done on being a successful comedian, my boyfriend and I have had a lovely 24 hours of Watson.
