Preemptive strike

Now, I’m about to set off for Bradford for Show 2 of 18,500. My phone has been in very poor form all day. I am posting this, as I occasionally do, just IN CASE I find I’m in Bradford after the show, it’s 11pm, I can’t get online, and the spectre of the Blogless Day hangs over Yorkshire like a cloud of factory smoke. I don’t think this will be necessary, I’m confident today will be a Double Post Day (DPD) and I will be able to write a report of tonight’s first-ever Bradford performance, or, who knows, maybe even some topic other than my tiny little life. But if it does all fall apart, this way we are covered. Am I taking this blog too seriously these days? Perhaps.

Oh, and thanks to the quite-a-few people who were at the Leicester show last night, and left nice messages here. It’s a really warm feeling to get (as they say) positive feedback so soon after a gig, especially a slightly ramshackle first-of-the-tour one. Do come back and keep reading. I’m literally always here.

Do I get to be the first person to say what a great show it was tonight then? You managed to give the Bradfordians what they want, which is clearly, er, the spectacle of you chasing small children? Brilliant, Brilliant show, thank you!

Agreed: you can’t take the blog too seriously. It’s a serious feat to undertake. We’re serious people.

If you’re after a topic about something other than your big life (see what I did there?) perhaps you could ask everyone to sign the Science is Vital Petition http://scienceisvital.org.uk/sign-the-petition/ to ensure that during the cutathon they don’t accidentally take out the things that may lead to economic and social recovery.

Have we had a double post day yet? Good luck for your second show. I’m sure it will be excellent. xxx

It was a lot better than Pretty Good – and not just saying that as BCFC fans! A really enjoyable evening – and thanks for sticking around afterwards to sign books and pose for photos. Enjoy the rest of the tour, Mark – and a tip to anybody going to see one of the shows: GET THERE EARLY!

It is not possible to take this blog too seriously. I just have found out that the BBC have ruined my birthday plans by cancelling the miranda recording this weekend so thanks for cheering me up slightly.
