So, I have just done my first show. It was Pretty Good. I tend to play things down of course, so it could have been a classic of modern entertainment, but in this case I’m not. It was just Pretty Good. Which is good enough for a first night. Thanks to anyone who came. Thanks in particular for your patience as I tried to remember jokes/how to talk.
I really ought to go back and sleep now. With my wife and my baby and that. I am terribly tired. But I’ll be in touch soon. You look after yourselves.

Hi Mark, came to see your show at Leicester with my boyfriend. It was brilliant, you were great. I loved the Kangroo joke at the start, and the chasing thing, especially when you were about to chase a lady who was 7 months pregnant. I really enjoyed the laptop thing but the only problem i had was that my half blind boyfriend couldn’t read it because the font was too small so i had to read it to him (it didn’t sound so funny when i said it!).
Good luck with the rest of the tour! Come back to Leicester soon!

Hi Mark, you are far too modest, we came to your show at DMH and it wasn’t pretty good it was BRILLIANT, loved the powerpoint at the beginning and interval (very original and very funny). You seem a really nice bloke and it was nice to see a comedian for once who can be funny without just relying on jokes about paedos and swearing alot. Someone cut us up in our car today so we booed them! ha ha! Thankyou very much for signing the book and tickets and good luck with the rest of the tour.

Hi
Just wanted to say that the show in Leicester last night was awesome (and way better than Dara who i’d seen there earlier in the year…) So thanks for a brill night, and signing my new book! (already half way through – not too bad so far
) Hope the rest of the tour goes well!

I mastered the art of noodle making so it was a good night all round I think. (By ‘noodle making’ I of couse mean ‘putting some noodles in hot water’).

Hi buddy
Thank you for a magical evening laced with laughter. We had our baby girl (boo) 4 weeks ago and this was our first night out. I had also trapped a nerve in my neck so thanks for not chasing me.
We’ve been booing folk all day, ace.
All the best for the rest of the tour.
Love John, Becky and baby Jessie.

Loved your show at DMH in Leicester. The sort of warm up section where you sat at the laptop and commented on the audience without saying a word was fantastic entertainment for anyone who arrived early (like me). It was a great night out although I’d love to know more about your angst with Mock the Week (which ironically your episode was shown on Dave last night too!)

Brought my 2 teenage boys to the show last night. We all thought it was really good. Nice touch with the ‘Powerpoint’ before the show and at half-time.
Would recommend!

Great show last night. I wanted to buy your book but I had ordered drinks for the interval and hadn’t enough cash left. I went back to the bar and cadged a refund so I could buy the book. I am sure your mum would approve of you having stopped me having a pint!
My wife is convinced that the Stuart you met on the train is our friend from Edinburgh (on the basis that he travels on that train route, works in IT and is just the sort of person who would say “it must have been a lime”). Still seems unlikely to me….

Well I was there last night and I can say it was much, much better than ‘just Pretty Good’. Really enjoyed myself. Had a great time. Thanks very much!
Oh, and good luck for the rest of the tour!

Well done! Looking forward to seeing you in Bristol. This is my first comment in what feels like a million days, because of moving-back-to-uni-related shizzle, but I’ve just had a big catch up and am pleased to learn that all is well. Saturday’s rap was a particular highlight. I’ve rather missed the structure that this blog provides, actually – I like that it goes on regardless of the drunken, studenty chaos that surrounds me. Amidst the odd sleeping hours and general freshers madness, I’m currently relying on new entries to remind me that a day has passed. xx

I’m glad that the show was Pretty Good; better than Not Very Good At All, of course. Sleep well!

Glad you had a nice start to your tour! And for what it’s worth, I often find comedians very funny when they momentarily forget how to talk.
Get some rest, and enjoy the rest of the tour!

Just going to throw it out there, if you had to remember how to talk, it might not have been ‘a classic of modern entertainment’.
I’m sure it was wonderful though!
You need to look after yourself, you’re doing so much!

Have a nice sleep Mark, I accidentally booked myself a ticket for the cardiff show tonight then spent a while panicking that it was a stalky thing to do.

Mark you were great, well done
I was officially the first person to book seats for your gig… front row woohoo!!! You were worth the run from work (although I wouldn’t rush into running through the middle of town again anytime soon!). And to top my evening off, I’ve got home to find you on Mock the Week on good ol’ Dave…. Sweet dreams, and good luck with the rest of the tour
Take care xxx

Thanks for a great evening of entertainment sorry i can’t type as quick as you but i lost two fingers in nam. Tried to talk to a stranger on the way home but tjey just ignored me. Feeling pretty low with myself now, I might not try that again as it does knock your self confidence.
Hope to see you again rob.

Glad it’s done and that it was Pretty Good. In Minnesota that’s perfect. If you’re Lutheran.
