Pants and pizzas
Just a bit more information on book-signing events. Someone asked me if I was likely to be signing books in Manchester, or anywhere else, during the tour. The answer is, for starters, I will be sitting there after every show writing my name in marker pen on everything that moves. Also, I’m planning to do a few special signing sessions in some of the bigger places – like Birmingham and, yes, Manchester – in the early evenings before the shows. So in short, if your aim is to own a copy of ‘Eleven’ with Mark Watson written in actual handwriting as well as in print, you will almost certainly succeed. I’ll publish details of any sign-age I’m planning, well before it happens.
And if you’re one of the people who keep harassing me to come to Ireland – the results of my Request Stop appeal from ages ago, where I asked readers of this blog where I should play extra dates on my tour, will be published next week and I THINK YOU’RE GOING TO LIKE THEM.
Now listen old friends, the problem I’ve got here is that it’s about 2.30 in the morning where I am, and I’m awfully tired. I really think I should sort of click on ‘publish’ and just go to bed, you know? I mean, I’m tremendously tired. I hope this doesn’t seem like too much of a cop-out.
Today I bought six pairs of pants and ate two pizzas. When I come back to look at this blog, day-by-day, as a record of my life, that will have to suffice for September 18 2010. I suppose I’d rather it had been a bit more momentous. But on the other hand, I didn’t lose any family members or appear naked in a public broadcast, so all in all I’m fairly satisfied. Tomorrow I should have something slightly more interesting to say. I hope so, at least. It’s possible I will wake before midnight your time, and add to this blog. Ooh, but I hope not. I hope I’m unconscious now for absolutely ages. Goodnight. I’m planning to dream about inventing a type of pen that can also receive emails.

I was internet-less for nearly 2 weeks and this is what I missed the most.

Even though it is now the 20th of September I want to make the 18th with a blog comment. I would have done so sooner but my home internet is down at the moment.
Today is/was the day when I conquered a fear I have had for some time and one that I had been thinking about probably on an hourly basis since I was asked to do it 6 months ago, amd that was to give a Best Mans Speech at my friends wedding………..which I did without incident………at least thats how I remember it……….we’ll probably get the video back and find I stood there for 10 mins making incoherent mutterings, but I don’t think so……I seemed to get laughs and some congratulations after so I’m pleased.
So being as my friend Emma is a fan of yours and she may well look back one day at your blog to the date of her wedding day I would like to say………congratulations Mrs and thanks for including me in your day!! xx

I’ve decided I’m going to become more involve with the blog… For the past couple of months I haven’t been reading it every day (more like once a week) because uni has been taking over my life. But I’m going to try and put aside 10 minutes for each day to read your blog and comment, because I believe that would be 10 minutes very well spent.
For starters, someone said they were jealous of Melbourne’s weather… Don’t be! It’s raining and cloudy and cold. Though I say cold… It’s probably like Summer for you guys. About 13 degrees today.

6 pairs of pants? Any of them fun colours/patterns designs? I suppose this is the obvious time to ask the ‘boxers or briefs’ question as well. Sorry. I’m a bit drunk and acting silly. x

Pizza is one of the greatest foods ever. I’m hungry now!

Well I giggled out loud three times while reading this, so I’d say in terms of writing an amusing blog, you have definitely succeeded, regardless of the dearth of factual information from your day.
I hope you have a good long rest!

For today I discovered that the people of twitter are wonderful. So that’s always good.
Looking forward to the tour very much now. Exciting!

I went into Waterstones and touched a copy of Eleven today. Then I read the first page. If I had had any money I would have bought it so damn hard. I considered shoplifting it but then I’d be depriving you of money so it’d be slightly counter-productive.
I decided instead to make a big show of reading it and being really enthralled (even though I really was, that just made it easier) in the hope that passers by would think “Wow, if such a discerning-looking fellow enjoys it, I really should buy several copies of that book”.
That would make up for my poverty.

If you’re doing book signing at your shows I will have to bring my copy of Eleven along with me for you to sign when we see you in November. Will that get me additional ‘Where’s Watson’ points? I would have hoped so!

Sorry for harrassing you
It’s just that I’ve never gotten to see you live, and would really love to.. the same old excuses
But yay for thinking I’m going to like them
Now I can’t wait for next week! Always a cliffhanger…. grrr
Btw i’m very very jealous of you being in Oz with the weather and apparently well priced pants and pizzas…
Sleep well

Sleep, dear! For goodness’ sake, sleep. Fitfully and all.

Aye, if only dreams could be planned! Though a pen to receive e-mails surely could be invented? It’d be useful to busy persons such as yourself, even if less to the rest of us …

When I saw the title I thought that the first commenter yesterday had picked a really odd subject.
Because I’m terrible and because I have to spend all my money gettting to school I don’t have a copy of Eleven yet, but when I do I’m sure I will be waving it at you as soon as I get the opportunity. I never use to be into the whole autograph thing but it’s actually kind of exciting when it’s in a book.

When you say you bought 6 pairs of pants, do you mean underpants or trousers?
Posted by Chris on September 18, 2010
When I read the title ‘pants and pizzas’ I assumed this would be the freshers week blog you mentioned.
