I'm bound to pack it up
Today we have basically been packing for the journey back south tomorrow. If you’ve ever had to pack a suitcase you will agree that it’s not much fun. Now imagine it’s not a suitcase but about 117 bags full of baby toys, baby clothes, baby food makers, miscellaneous baby stuff, and Emily’s hats. That’s what we’re up against. And of course we have to make sure the beautiful flat we’ve rented for the month is not a complete slum when we hand it back.
So not much blogging is possible today. But just to say I didn’t mean to give the impression yesterday that I would definitely not do Edinburgh next year. (It got some frowny faces.) I just think the balance of probability is against it because I have a lot on. I need to write the next novel and I’ll be touring an awful lot, so there’s limited time to put a new show together. And I’d never do it unless I felt the show was going to do me justice.
But Emily is almost sure to be here, which means I will be too for a good chunk of August, which in turn means I’m bound to get involved in some sort of nonsense. More We Need Answers Live, anyone?

Tara said that more WNA live would make her life. Mine too.

Yeah, you must have had a mixed time of it lately. Nevertheless, I’m sure theres a change-a-coming, sooner rather than later hopefully. Right now there’s three big joke heads ruining jokes, but once they’re weakened sufficiently, the puns will once more roll freely off the tongues of comedians like yourself.
Adios

To echo everyone who’s already said it, YES PLEASE to We Need Answers Live – loved it the first time, would love to see it again. While a new solo show is always a wonderful thing, sometimes it’s a better thing to take a break and come back fresh.
I tend to think any decision made about next year’s Edinburgh during Edinburgh might be reconsidered.

I was just about to say I’d go another novel in place of a Edinburgh Fringe show (if it HAD to be chosen between) but then you go and suggest We Need Answers… to which the answer is YES PLEASE. Do it. Please.
I want to book my travel and flat for EdFringe now so that I KNOW i’ll definitely be there and be happy all year.. but I don’t know if that’s possible. I need a friendly internet guide to help me out :[.
At any rate, I’m off to try. We Need Answers! We Need Answers! woop yay and an emoticon cheerleader.

More We Need Answers Live next year sounds a great plan, yes!
Could you be persuaded to do a small TYSIC/blog readers meet up or gig to maybe help some along with challenges or to just generally meet up? We Watsonians could do it anyway but it would be nice if you could be there.
Qn: Why do we all need to plan next year’s Ed the minute it’s over?
Ans: It is just so good and that keeps us happy.
I hope you and all your ‘stuff’ make it back to London as easily as possible.

I actually love packing. I imagine it would eventually get old if I had to do it often though.

We need answers live would be amazing.
Hope packing and travelling back went/goes ok

Ooh, a live We Need Answers would be ace! Key mentioned this possibility somewhat cryptically after his album launch and I have been trying not to get too exited seeing as it is at least a year off if it happens. I’m still pretty excited, though, I must admit!

I’m glad to inform you that your books arrived today. I am EXTREMELY excited and cannot wait to read them! Happy, Watson? You’ve made it all the way to this (so not) beautiful country.

‘more’ We Need Answers Live’? Oh dear I obviously missed that first time round!
That’s amazing you’re doing another novel already! wow.
Okay maybe just the novel, the live WNA, and a quick 24 hour show(kidding).
Have a good journey. You’re training it as well aren’t you? Oh dear. Least it’s only five hours.

YES PLEASE! I liked the Watson/Key/Horne reunion at the Horne section. I can only imagine that WNA live would be so good!

Oh yes indeedy, after another sneaky Ben Folds reference yesterday – now Mr Jack White himself. Now we’re really talking. De Stijl – great album. Underrated. Better than White Blood Cells, IMHO.
Next year (if I go) I’d quite fancy something extraordinary like The Hotel – maybe set in a fire station or something this time? Something truly Edinburghian – but something not too knackeringly demanding exclusively for you either. You’ve earned a bit of a break, after all.

We Need Answers Live would be brilliant. Just brilliant. No other word. It would make my life I think.

Definitely do more We Need Answers!

We Need Answers live would be awesome! Ok, I am completley fine with you not doing the Edinburgh Fringe if you do that! Well… as long as I get a ticket
Have a safe journey home and I hope you’re last show goes well (I’m sure it will, they are always brilliant).

I’ll write your next show for you, how hard can it be?
Apart from that, you should probably do WNA.
You’re brilliant, you know that.

Yes please. We need answers life will be the best thing since your show and the Horne Section. And of course sliced bread.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!
That’s er, a yes to WNA live, if you hadn’t guessed. =D

Is it selfish of me to be very glad that the fringe is over this year so I’m not tortured by people talking about how much fun they’re having?
I will be there next year. Especially with the prospect of live WNA.
I wonder if anyone would pay me to go…

WNA Live would be fun! Though if it took place in Edinburgh it should be recorded for all of us people unable to attend!
Posted by Laurs on August 30, 2010
WNA live would be awesome!
And congratulations to the three of you for making to the end in one piece! Safe journey home tomorrow. x

‘More We Need Answers Live, anyone?’
Oh boy. If this was literally the only show on the Fringe it would make my summer. Pretty, pretty please.
(One day I’ll be cool enough to get one of your song references.)

More WNA live would be wonderful.
I’m quietly plotting to try and get some tech work next year as an excuse to stay longer/the month.
You never know.

We Need Answers live would be excellent please.Hope your last show goes well. You’ve nearly made it! x
PS. I am curious about Emily’s hats. Does she have lots and lots, or are they all just really big?

Is that a White Stripes reference I spy there in yon title? De Stijl is one of my most favourite albums.
