i was so gutted when i didn’t quite make it as a lifer at the first 24 hours show i came to, and now i’ve missed out on this too :0( can i be a belated lifer if i read every single blog posted?

can’t think of anything creative at the moment except – this was a cate thing, and would be difficult for those people in say krgyzstan (wow – i really can’t spell that – thanks google), that book launch picnic was brilliant. maybe we could somehow replicate it?
or something to do with photos and giant online collage..?

I’ve been away this week and I’ve now caught up on the backlog of this here blog.

The big thing in my TYSIC this week is that I’ve regarded myself as a successful lighting designer, being paid to do something that many of my friends aspire to, rather than a failed actor.

I’ve also been trying to think of my failure to do all the things I meant to do for lent as merely a failure to set reasonable goals.

I set a goal for myself last year, which was a little goal on the road to my major goal of producing a comedy series for the BBC, and that was to meet more people on the comedy scene. Whilst I know a fair few people on the Melbourne scene, I would like to get to know more of the greater Australian/International scene. So with this in mind, and with the fact you won’t be at this year’s Melbourne Comedy Festival, I aim to arm myself with a camera and a small whiteboard, and meet with as many comedians as I can, get them to write you a ‘wish you were here’ message on the board and take a photo of them with it (thus proving the goal had been achieved). It’s just a cheeky pretense for my lack of networking abilities, but let me know what you think! I’d hate to put your name forward without your permission.

I have read every blog entry so far, but haven’t set myself a TYSIC so I don’t know if it counts. I have thought a lot about a TYSIC, but haven’t mananged to fix on one, or some. I could start by faffing less.

I’ve been reading every day but rarely comment! I shall add a new challenge to my TYSIC – comment at least once a week on your blog!

In other news, I got rejected from 2 applications for jobs in the media industry, bringing the running total to around 6.

On a positive note, I’ve been asked to host a Race for Life in front of 3000 women!

Now, off to sign up to the forum I go…
