Oh - just thought of two more (reminded of one by the birds twittering outside, and the other by the post before mine):

- I want to re-train myself to go to bed at night (i.e. before midnight) so that I get more than an average of 4-5 hours a night.

- I want to do whatever it takes (more reading, counselling, more practise) to stop being socially anxious.

Right, that's it. I think.

I remember reading this first time round, and really thought I'd posted then. Possibly I did what I am about to do now - decide I really wanted to do ths, but needed to go away and think of a few things I really want to achieve. then I never came back.
Maybe I'll just do it. Right now.

Right - I've just set myself the challenge of losing 50lb over the next 50 weeks. This is partly to raise money for the charity I work for (Connect - the communication disability network) but also because i really need to. The idea terrifies me - I've been trying to lose a significant amount of weight on and off since I left University, and it's never really worked. But I'm really determined, and hoping having made an incredibly public announcement about it, and also having a load of potential money riding on it, I will actually stick to it. My ten year goal would be, I suppose, to keep the weight off long term.

In nine years' time, I want to be accomplished as a photographer, even if I'm still only amateur.

In nine years, I want to have qualified and be practising as a counsellor. Possibly in Scotland (the plan is to go study this at the Uni of Strathclyde next year, and moving to Scotland to live has been on the cards since I first went up 5 years ago).

In nine years, I want to have my own family, which will involve meeting someone, liking each other enough to stay together, get married, and have a baby or two. I don't feel that there's much more I can do to make this happen (believe me, I've tried), so this one is open to chance more than anything else. Though if anyone reading knows any nice Muslim guys who are Mark Watson fans, let me know - the fan-nage is not an absolute necessity, but is probably a sign of good taste.

By the time this is over, I'll be 26 and would like to...

1.) Have developed some form of social skills, or at least have the ability to keep up a normal conversation with other people then my close friends and family.
2.) Be more relaxed when speaking to large groups of people
3.) Get accepted into university
4.) Move back to the UK and become financially independant
5.) Write a novell

That's funny. Patrick Park song the Lucky Ones just started playing as I have started writing this plan of self betterment... one chorus goes "make the best out of life, don't grow old before your time"

I have just turned 21 years old and so far in my life I have been very lucky. Lucky to have a loving family and friends and to have had the opportunity to travel and meet amazing people from around the world. I am not a religious man but I do feel blessed and humbled how fortunate I have been. Self involvement aside I would like to do the following in the next 10 years..

1- Have finished my Bachelor of Science with decent grades (which means I should be studying now) and have gotten into some sort of post graduate program or honours (preferably Law) at the University of Sydney

2- Remain college hero status (paradoxical to the first) in third year at college. Which means being a PCL whilst killing sport, uun and being the best SS ever!

3- Use less abreviations and learn to spell properly

4- Be engaged in a career which I enjoy and can progress in (first with your heart then with your head)

5- Be able to play guitar or at least know Wonderwall

6- Have a golden retriever called "Rod or Alex" and to take him for walks outside my beachhouse regularly or on my yatch (one or the other or both)

7- Have a loving family and friends

8- Most of all BE HAPPY

9- Have a cool video of myself ageing (or lack there of) over 10 years time

10- Be less of a narcissist

Additional: be a snowboarding/ skiing/ diving instructor as a fall back for retirement

Jumping on the bandwagon even though it's really.. Almost three months late?
I was recommended this by an... almost friend, should I say, I find it interesting.
I've decided to do one of those photo compilations; where I take a photo every day for years on end, and by the end compile it into a five or six minute video. I've seen it done before and I find it to be an interesting idea.

I am in my mid teens- I know I'll change drastically over the years.

I have trouble sticking to resolutions, so this will help me on the path to being able to do that.

Oh dear - I've just read through lots of the posts - I now feel very very old.

I'm rather late at submitting my own challenge - I blame my old aching bones and arthritic fingers (make it hard to do this new fangle computer thing). As the last person said very well - what's a couple of months in 10 years though?

So here goes -

I will put one foot in front of the other and repeat

What does this mean? Mainly get off my seat and do something less boring instead, go places I've never been and meet new people. I won't stop with the feet moving even if it's a bit scary or tiring. Hopefully it will get easier and much quicker with practice!

I've got a new pair of trainers and now it's time to start using them xo

A little -a lot - late to the party, but a month out of ten years is a drop in the ocean, right?

Anyway, here goes: write and publish a novel. Even if I only get a chapter done a month, I'll have something to do, right? And it might take me less than ten years but I don't mind completing this in less than ten years to be honest. I have no idea if this will make me a better person, but you know what? It will definitely make me happier. I've begun countless stories ever since I was seven - maybe younger - but TYSIC seems like the perfect opportunity.
