Sometimes I’m sure everyone reading this wonders whether I really am in Australia as much as I claim, or whether the whole thing is a recurring fantasy which is good-naturedly humoured by those around me. So from time to time it’s nice to give you a bit of proof in the form of a media travelogue. This here is a link to a little interview I did on ABC in Brisbane, which is a bit like being on BBC local radio, but with more listeners; or BBC Radio 4, but with fewer listeners. None of it is life-changing stuff – I try to reserve that for the actual live shows, because people feel vulnerable if their lives are changed in the middle of the afternoon – but it might be of mild interest as a distraction. The interviewer was a very amiable fellow called Tim Cox. From his accent and other details, you will have a hard time indeed denying that I am in Brisbane, Queensland. I have three shows to go here, which are largely sold out I think, so all is well. There is still the business of my ravaged-by-insects flesh (see yesterday’s micro-blog), but I’m glad to update you with the news that I have paw-paw ointment to soothe the bites, and have also purchased an AK-47 which is capable of wiping out more than 25,000 mosquitoes with a single round.
