Tonight’s show in Runcorn was enlivened by a mix-up which led to some of the audience having tickets that said 7.30, and others with identical-looking tickets for an 8pm start. Oh, you can imagine the hilarious consequences!
My advice to anyone planning on attending a future show is that we normally try to start at 7.30. Some venues insist on 8. Occasionally, as with tonight, it begins as one thing and then gets changed to the other. I’d suggest that if possible, you always get there for half seven. That way you can always have a drink/ discuss politics until it gets
going. Whereas if you gamble on an 8pm start… Well. I hate the thought of someone paying their money and not getting the whole thing.
Having said that, as you know, I tend to spend half an hour pretty much just introducing myself, so you won’t miss
that much either way. Sometimes I do a thing about a kangaroo, but you know. Someone will always explain it.
Tomorrow: Aberdare. Not the best publicised gig of the tour it’s
fair to say. Do come/ send Welsh people. Ta.
